There are so many reasons why I ride. Ever since high school, I have loved riding, though I only started taking it seriously three years ago. Fitness is the main reason I ride. My dad died of heart disease and I have vowed never to be in that condition. Taking in the beauty of our state is another reason I ride. You never see Oregon in a car like you can on a bike. Whether it is farmland, beaches or mountains, everything is better on a bike. This will be my second Cycle Oregon ride.
I am well acquainted with the child abuse epidemic. For the past five years, I helped organize and run a week-long summer camp for abused and neglected children now in the foster care system. I am looking forward to helping out the Children’s Center of Clackamas County in carrying out their mission!
