I purchased my first ten-speed Schwinn in 1970, with money I earned from delivering the Detroit Free Press—and I’ve been riding ever since. But at this stage of life, short trips around town are quite sufficient! For anything longer than 10 miles, I prefer my Kymco “People” Scooter! So riding with Team Airstream is out of the question. But for years, I’ve wanted an excuse to tag along on Cycle Oregon—and nothing could be better than serving on the Team Airstream Pit Crew! As Executive Director of Children’s Center, I’m grateful for the opportunity to assist the enthusiastic and generous cyclists who will literally be putting the pedal down to help end child abuse and neglect. I’ll admit, I’m not much of a “camper” either. So, I’m equally grateful for a bunk in one of the Airstreams I’ll be driving! And I’m looking forward to blogging daily from the road about the great adventure.
